After working with Jack for many years, I have nothing but the utmost confidence in his training ability. He has taught me a great deal and has helped me develop my own skills as well. Jack has owned and training dogs for many years. He is able to work with many different breeds and behaviors and has had great success. He helps you, as the owner, develop the confidence to work with your dog instead of doing all the work for you. He also helps you find ways to continue working with your dog even after you finish training sessions with him.
It's upsetting to think of the previous owner hurting my dog! Thank you so much for helping us (and her) overcome her fears.
My dog, Siri, is a totally different dog. Her anxiety was so bad, we couldn't leave her alone. She would hurt herself trying to get loose. She would growl at people and be anxious about toys and food. Jack helped US learn triggers for Siri and understanding her body language. We never owned a big dog so to get control over her, we knew we needed help. She's very protective but looks to me to see what needs done.
It was a lot of work and commitment training her and we still need to work with her just for reinforcement. She loves learning new things and picks up on things so quickly. I'm so thankful for Jack for helping us learn her personality and how to deal with that. She's my best friend and I love her with all my heart.
Jack was highly recommended to us by someone who taught puppy obedience classes in the central IL area. We have a 1 year old Akita named Kuma who needed some work and training. Jack met Kuma and they connected instantaneously! He is very knowledgeable and has had several years of experience with a variety of breeds. He took the time to research more on the Akita breed before working with Kuma and that assured me that he was vested in her and the time he was spending with her. Jack taught us how to work with Kuma. He taught us how to understand and read her behavior. After a few sessions, Kuma was able to Sit, Come, Stay, Down and walk on a leash without pulling me behind her. Jack also recommended specific leashes and collars that would work best. He was great to work with and is patient and kind, Kuma loved him! If you want an excellent dog trainer, Jack is your guy- he will teach you everything you need to know to train your dog the right way!
Jack Beckwith worked with our dog, myself and my husband a disabled veteran, training our St. Bernard to be a service dog for us.
I recommend Jack Beckwith very highly. His experience, patience, and ability to diagnose and make recommendations greatly benefited my five-year-old dog’s behavior. Jack’s real skill was providing me the tools and tactics to train my dog on an ongoing basis. From simple things like the type of collars and leads to use to training in an environment with noises and other people were extremely helpful. Jack was training me how to train my dog. It takes daily practice of Jack’s lessons; however, that time has paid dividends in improving my dog’s behavior.
Jack helped me train my black lab named Ruger in 2015. Ruger was a very dominant and highly active dog. Jack persuaded Ruger and myself to go out in social settings like Bass Pro shop and the Grand Prairie mall. He taught me the basic skills I needed to know for both of us. Jack is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Jack was also very dependable, flexible and willing to help as much as needed! Thanks for all your hard work and efforts with Ruger and especially me!
I have worked with several dog trainers over the years and I'd have to say that Jack is extremely knowledgeable and pays attention to detail. He has worked with me with two of my dogs. He is very knowledgeable and explains how to "fix" an issue by discussing, demonstrating and observing. On top of that he is on time and very personable. Thank you Jack!
We have a German shepherd that needed obedience training. We contacted Jack and he helped us with our training needs. Jack is very knowledgeable and helpful. We were very satisfied with Jack services.
We first met Jack at Heartland Training and if it wasn’t for his house visit when we brought home our sweet (but food aggressive) shelter lab she may not have made it to age 10. She is one of the most loving dogs we have ever owned but we were just not sure how to handle her food protection. Jack came in and assessed our situation, gave us practical ways to help her and our family understand the boundaries and to teach her place in our family with a firm, yet loving method. We have had him come back several times through the years to help out in other ways with other dogs. Jack is patient, easy to understand, super knowledgeable and we have always loved his love for our 4 legged family members. Thanks Jack for saving our Dawson from going back to the pound 9 years ago!
Jack Beckwith and Pawsitively K9 get a thumbs up from me and my pack. I’ve known Jack for over 20 years and his dedication and heart to dogs, making them better and helping owners with this task is undeniable. While we have a common love of the German Shepherd breed, which first brought us together, Jack can help any dog be the best they can be. He knows how they think, and knows how to motivate them. I would trust him with my pack and have enjoyed our dogs playing together in a large group. Whether it's behavioral problems you are encountering, or just need basic manners and leash walking ability, Jack with his Pawsitively K9 Pack will help make your dog a better version of itself. A happy dog is a happy owner.
I met Jack Beckwith when we asked our vet for the name of a trainer to help with our six-month old Rottweiler puppy, Rosie. Rosie was smart as a whip and a real handful and Jack was a huge help with her training. First thing to know about Jack is that Jack is all about the dog. He is devoted to his own dogs. What that means for you, the owner, is that Jack is most definitely not about berating a dog into submission; he respects and loves dogs. Instead, he enlists the dog’s cooperation by making training fun for the dog all the while teaching the pet owner to fully enjoy and participate in the training of their pet. Remembering how Rosie would get so excited when she saw Jack’s truck coming down our road and how much fun it was for all three of us, we strongly recommend Jack Beckwith to any pet owner who needs an expert and caring dog owner.
Jack is a trusted friend and knowledgeable coworker. I’m thankful to be able to compare notes, and collaborate with Jack when either of us encounter a tough case. My working dogs absolutely adore him. They’re always happy to see Jack, whether we’re working on something new, or just getting together for a visit. He’s respectful of their behavioral needs, and makes sure everyone is having fun!
